According to AMD, the Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.5.2 will be the last supported driver planned for these GPUs.ĪMD's list of GPUs moving to a legacy model includes 9-year-old GPUs such as the HD 7000 series, but also other more recent ones like the GCN-based R7 M400 series, which is just five years old.

However, this driver also removes some features, including support for AMD Radeon HD 7000, HD 8000, 200, 300, Fury, and more.ĪMD has moved some of its older graphics cards to a legacy model, meaning that there won't be any additional drivers supporting them.

The ‘youngest’ series being retired today is the Fury series which debuted in 2015. The Radeon 200 series were released in 2013 while a refresh based on the same silicon was released in 2014. AMD further clarifies that ‘no additional driver releases are planned’, which does not explain if AMD still intends to fix important security issues should they appear in the future.įurthermore, AMD is also retiring its Radeon HD 7000 series (released in 2011) and HD 8000 series (released a year later for OEMs). 
What this means is that the last driver to support these graphics cards is the 21.5.2 driver. Starting with Adrenalin 21.6.1 driver graphics card from Radeon Fury, Radeon 300, as well as Radeon 200 series, will no longer be supported, as all these cards have been moved to the legacy section. In an official blog post, AMD confirmed it is retiring a large number of its graphics card today.
