Paradoxically the smallest ship is the most important because it is the hardest to find as there is only a 2% chance of random fire hitting it. You have 5 ships with a length of 5, 4, 3, 3, and 2 – so 15% of squares will have a ship on them, meaning about 1 in 6 randomly fired missiles would hit a ship. 
The playing field is a 10 by 10 grid, yielding 100 total squares. Once all of the grids for a particular ship have been shot, that ship is sunk. Whoever sinks the competing player’s 5 ships first wins. Use your finger like a mouse & tap on the squares you want to shoot at. Repeat the process for your remaining two rockets on each turn. If a series of red Xs do not reveal a ship it means the ship is longer and still has more squares you have to hit in order to sink it.
Squares you have already shot at will have a rounded blue circle in them, unless they hit a ship, in which case they will have a red X.
